In all areas of life, I find it best to set up expectations clearly. If you are interested in hiring me, here’s what I’ll need to know initially: what you want me to do, the page length and/or word count, and your deadline(s).
From there we can discuss the details, such as what type of annotations you have prepared for fact-checking or what type of editing you need. The Northwest Independent Editors Guild gives a clear and brief outline of the types of editing and what they entail. We can also talk about whether you adhere to a specific style guide (such as AP, Chicago, APA, or your own in-house style guide).
I can’t give you a standard fee here because every project is different. But if you please take a few moments to inquire, I’ll respond and we can quickly and painlessly find out if we’re compatible.
